Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Thank you to everyone who came and participated in our family day. I love how everyone has improved in their skating. I think that it is important for young children to experience a variety of skills and different experiences. Remember to tell your child to keep working-even though it is hard! Try and try again. Perserverance is a great way to get better at something. I hope everyone had a lot of fun and thanks for the many delicious treats!

Happy Groundhog's Day

Today is Groundhog's Day and we celebrated by creating our very own groundhog. He even had a burrow. We talked about what a groundhog is and what happens on groundhogs day. When a groundhog comes out of the ground he checks to see if he can see his shadow. If he sees his shadow it means 6 more weeks of winter. If he does not see his shadow it means it will be spring 6 weeks sooner. We are lucky that our groundhog did not see his shadow. Welcome Spring!!!
We had a wonderful campfire in our classroom today. We had a firestarter and then roasted marshmallows, hot dogs and even made smores! It was a lot of fun! Everyone joined in making our play very collaborative!
